Gingerbread House

Ok so I know it’s been a while, but I’ve been uninspired and spend all my computer time writing papers and stuff. Then I dumped ginger ale on my keyboard some I’m back to using an old crappy one so I’ve been less than excited about writing lately. I finished my last module for this semester today. I have a few left to do for my correspondence course, but that’s not due for forever. I already did one final for Linguistics and I’m happy with my mark. 21.5 out of 25. My final grade ends up being 91%! woot. happy with that, that’s for sure. Anyways. I’m bored with school, so on to other things. Emily and I made a gingerbread house. I’m not sure what persuades a mom to do things like that with a two year old. Seriously, who in their right mind wants to patiently wait with candies that cant be eaten while icing dries so the house doesn’t fall over. needless to say it was an experience. Here’s a couple of pics for you. My face looks all red, so maybe I looked all red that day, but I’m blaming it on the camera.

Anyways. Im hungry and I have to get back to getting things done today. I seriously cant believe it’s almost Christmas! Ooo Tree hunting this weekend too!

Highlighter Murderer

It’s taking me a long time to get down to business and do school today. As is fairly obvious because I am currently blogging instead of doing Linguistics. I had a bit of a break because my class got messed up and I thought I had double the work for this week, but it isn’t due until next week, so I can breathe a bit now. This week has been alot better because I’ve had more time to do school and I’m not quite as busy and cramming everything in. It’s nicer to be more relaxed and not trying to speed read while still taking adequate notes. I really need to stop being quite so AR about my notes. I think I’ve killed 5 highlighters already. Just a little something that’s left over from my English with Ebbeson days. I don’t need all the different colours of pens anymore…or maybe I should get some…wow I am so much more AR than I used to be. Where did that come from, seriously.

So I decided I didn’t want to be a vegetarian any more because its a royal pain in the butt. It’s been six months and I do feel healthier, but It’s really hard to always eat that way. So then I had the only thing I actually missed by not eating meat. A pepperoni pizza. But then I felt horrible and sick! And that was the only thing I really wanted anyways, so I’ve decided to be content as a vegetarian because I really don’t want any meat anyways. It’s just not appealing to me at all. If only junk food wasn’t appealing to me hey? I’d like to thank my dear friend Coco for creating a monster. I hadn’t eaten dill pickle chips in years, but I had some while playing one of the best games ever;Settlers of Catan! (The card version tho, and in French!) So now I have added Dill pickle chips to my ever growing list of things that are yummy to eat and wantable. So merci Coco for that and non merci too! Too much junk.  But I can at least segue that into my regular attendance at the gym. Yep that’s right, I’ve been actually going to the gym! Morgan comes now too because we have a GDS student living with us and so its no longer a MCF problem to leave the house without Emily in the morning.

Anyways, I’d better do some school and drink some more coffee before it gets too late in the day. Have a good day ok?

The Chronicles

Ahh what to write, what to write. I don’t even know where to begin. The Chronicles of my Vacation journey are long and complex, yea even odd. I have oodles of pictures too, but I’ve yet to go through them to pic which I’d like to put up here. Maybe I’ll get to that later. I don’t have alot of time to Blog today. Busy Busy, yet again. I start school again on Monday. Wow. I can barely believe it. I only have 3 courses this semester, but I’m sure it will continue to be busy. Morgan is figuring out his schooling stuff too. AND I think we are having one of the GDS students come live with us. That’s still TBA though. We started making the downstairs into a nicer place to live already. Moving things and cleaning and stuff. Its going to be a big project. I’m glad the first week of school is always easier because I’ll have plenty to do. I’ve already gotten most of my stuff from the school, so I’m ready to go! Semester 2 here I come.

I think I’ll post Vacation pics tomorrow. I’m too AR to not start getting things ready for our student and for school. In the meantime, here’s a piccy of my very willful, defiant two year old who insists that she wont get time outs just before she gets them, and argues about everything. But, she’s 2. That’s life, she also melts my heart with her big “squeeze” hugs and kisses. Her rapier sharp wit, and crazy giggles make me have the hardest time keeping her inline. It is beyond hard to not just laugh at her every time she is mouthy. I suppose it’s a good thing that I know too many kids who did get away with that stuff, and are now 7 or 8 year old obnoxious chillders.

Sleeping at Daycare. Too cute!!

Your mom goes to college

Emily’s mom goes to college! I jumped the last hoop! No more poodley Courtenay. I start December 1st. Morgan let me get some school supplies at staples yesterday to celebrate. And I found a cool French Vocab list and dictionary there too. So now I am good to go.

Morgan was teaching Emily to sing O Canada this morning. She sang “O Canada, our home and nakey land”. It was so funny. Either that or she sings “O Canada Mommy!!!”. We’ve been teaching her the provinces too. Her best is Manitoba. She like saying “Alberta-ta-ta-ta”. Just like her daddy she turns everything into a song.

Last week Emily was at Nathan and Danielle’s for a couple hours and she learned something mommy probably wouldn’t have taught her until she was older. Danielle let her walk around with their digital camera. She would stop and look at the screen and take a picture and then look for something else to snapshot. Danielle said most of the pictures turned out really well. SOO cool. I want to get her that kids camera you can chuck down stairs without recking it. I think it’d be really cool to see from her perspective what shots she’d take.

We are going on a mission trip to kamloops in a couple weeks. I dug through our toques and hats and jackets and found lots to give away. Next comes my closet. I’m taking pop cans in today and tomorrow Georgia and I and the kidlets are going to go get some sox and mitts and stuff to donate for the trip. I really love when we get to go and help people out. If you live in huncity or near it and you have extra stuff to give away you could let me know and I could even come get it to take to kamloops when we go.

Off I go to the bottle depot. Courtenay the Student!
