Photo-tacular

I am seriously relaxing and listening to Jazz music. I love it. Plus Emily is playing in her room quietly. Gotta love that. Avery is content and waving her arms around. Time to Blog!

We went to the park at one of the schools today. I was so disappointed. We only stayed for a little bit because there was glass everywhere. It wasn’t like a broken bottle in one place. There was glass everywhere. We found this big sharp piece at the bottom of a slide.

Needless to say, I was not impressed. It wasn’t even beer bottles. So you cant blame this one on drunks. They were a glass coke bottles. I had hoped for a nice time, but we spent the whole time trying to keep Emily away from the glass.

We made a short stop at the farmers market too. I bought some organic free range lettuce (yes I know there’s no such thing as free range lettuce, it’s just fun to say.).

Then it was finally warm enough to inflate Emily’s pool. So she played in there for a long time. Daddy got to relax on the deck and Mommy got somethings done around here.

Hi Mom

I really need to work at kicking my own butt. I skipped my spin class today, again. I missed Monday too. I shouldn’t because I still pay if I don’t go and because I know its good for me. Summer is just so hard to keep on track with exercising and eating healthy. That and ICE CREAM. brutal I know. Why does ice cream belong in summer. or in my freezer. Mmm Cotton Candy Oreo Blizzards! Thanks Roxy! I sometimes wish I had someone like Emily has to be in charge. So even when I whine they could say “I’m sorry sweetie, that’s not good for you” “You need to eat your vegetables” Do you want an apple for dessert!?!!!YAY!” I think I’d do a lot better with that. I think I need a personal Salad Chef. I like salads, but I usually keep myself to busy to make them. I did have a leaf of my butter lettuce that I’m growing though. mmm tasty!

The big girl is still sleeping in her big girl bed. This morning , 20 minutes before my alarm would normally go off, Emily walked by our room and said “Hi Mom!” and headed for the stairs. AHH. I snatched her up and brought her back into our room for some snuggles. I was definitely not ready to get up yet. And when did she start calling me “Mom”. The name is “Mommy!”Silly little monkey!

I have Leah to thank for the ridiculous song stuck in my head today. Thank you for suggesting I let Em watch the wiggles on youtube. WHY! Cold spaghetti Cold Spaghetti!!! At least Emily loves to sing and dance right?

I’m kinda sad today because I found out that another one of the kids I went to school with passed away. His name was Jamie and we were good friends in Jr. High and fellow Percussionists in band too. He was a really nice guy. Stupid Cancer. It’s pretty hard to have people your age die. You expect that because you are young you have loads of time to worry about that kind of stuff later, but I guess that’s why the bible describes this life as “but a breath”(psalm 39). I can’t possibly know how many days and moments I have left to live, but I know that I plan on using them to the fullest. I truly want to see as many people as I can come to know Jesus before it’s too late.

Well before I spend to much of my day feeling melancholy, here’s some picks from the last week.

oh and I miss you already Coco. And Danielle, Come home soon!

Emily and the Winner

Sooo tired. Caaan’t sleep. grr. I should be napping right now while Emily is sleeping, but I cant. I just stared at my ceiling for a while then gave up. We went to a friends house for a campfire last night and stayed up too late, but that was ok. Then when I got home I couldn’t fall asleep. I think I dozed off at like 4:30 or something. At least the campfire was super relaxing. The last couple of weeks have been go go go go, so it was nice to just chill out and enjoy the night. Yay hooray for being able to get a babysitter last minute.

So I go in to wake Emily up this morning because she is going to go with me to staff meeting. Bye the time I got there she was already awake. Standing there in her crib with NO clothes on. Diaper gonzo! not good not good! panic! This is gonna be gross. I guess this was just a warning for next time. No messes to clean up. YAY! She must have only taken the diapey off in the few minutes before I got her or we would have had issues. I thought she had managed to get all her clothes off, but I guess the sitter put her down in just a diaper cause there wasn’t a sleeper to be found. Whew. Takes me back. Apparently my parents called me Houdini baby and had to pin my sleepers on backwards to keep me in them. Please no baby finger painting! NOOOO!

We went to the garlic festival on the weekend. It was pretty fun. Morgan cached in one of his triple dog dares to get me to eat a spicy clove of garlic. It was ok at first cause I like garlic, but after a sec my mouth was on fire!!!! Then I didn’t feel so good. My stomach was like “You jerk!”. so We went to another concession and got some delicious ribbettes and a big bottle of water for me to down. I think I probably still smell like garlic 2 days later. healthy though. I tried a garlic Jelly Bean. It was good. Maybe not my snack of choice, but good none the less.

We took Emily to see the Llamas. LLAMA FACE!!(sorry couldn’t help myself – Emperors new groove – See it!) She loves them. There was this “winner” standing out side the petting cage smoking with serious 80′s Ray bans. I was talking to the petting zoo guy about the pictures they offer. I said “could she get her picture taken with a sheep or something”. About then the “winner” pipes up.”Thats a llama!”. I was like “um duh. I meant the sheep over there. The one that looks like a sheep”. Ok I didn’t say that, but I wanted too. I wanted to be like”Actually it’s an alpaca, Mr. Winner”.

He then gets his little girl who is about 4 or 5 to come out and they walk away with him blowing smoke all around her. I cant really handle that. They know stuff now that they didn’t years ago. Nobody thought second hand smoke was bad before, but it IS! I so wanted to be like “Um Mr. Winner. Your damaging your daughters lungs and I hope she sues you when she gets older!”. Sorry. I just get frustrated by people whose habits effect kids. Its dumb. It should be considered child abuse to smoke in your car with the windows up and kids or babies in the car. It would be if you put any other kind of smoke or gas in there for them to breathe. Done ranting. Sorry

Heres a couple of pictures of Em and the Alpaca/sheep/llama/elephant.

Auntie Go Go

Today Emily went to Georgia’s house to hang out with Flynn while mommy and daddy went to staff meeting. The whole way there I was trying to get her to say Georgia or Flynn. She wouldn’t say either of them. But a couple minutes after I left she said “ah tee go go”(gotta sound it out). so auntie George has been dubbed Auntie Go Go.

I think Em and I are going to go walking at the 108 today. It’s such a nice day so I think an outing with some different scenery is in order. Man today I wish I had one of those biking cart things. It would be such a nice day to roll around the lake. I want to ride my bike so much, but since Emily goes where I go…no go.

I finally got around to editing some pictures to put up here. so here you go. These are from our day at the park last Saturday with Janaya and Elijah. Oh and the Shih szu of my hair.

Butt Fly and the Slander Party

I actually feel like blogging today. I haven’t had alot of time to lately. I posted the other two posts cause they made me laugh so hard. Most of the videos are so such crappy quality that youtube will probably laugh at me for posting them, but I might anyways.Heres the Snowboarding one.

The title is one of the funnier parts of my week. We looked after Elijah and Janaya on Saturday. They are 1.5 and 4 yrs. That was the day Emily learned her first 3 syllable word.”Butt Fly”. So what if she turned it into a two syllable word. it cracked me up. She says it better already. I’m a bit sad that she does. Her second 3 syllable word was “cheerio”. The while playing all day Janaya played with Emily’s little phone and was pretending to talk to her friend Asia. Lucky for Janaya because she got invited to Asia’s “Slander Party”. I looked over at Morgan and said “I’ve been to some of those, they’re awful”. We are still laughing about it and thinking of throwing our own “Slander Party”.

You haven’t lived until you’ve had a Diaper explode in the washing machine. How it got there I’ll never know, but what I do know is that I had to re-wash everything and pick up a “butt load” of the jelly diaper stuff. I’m just glad it wasn’t a poopy. icky icky icky.

I’ve started running with Morgan. I was going to do the podcast for running about 3 months ago, but that never happened. I’ve been waiting to blog about it unlit I actually made it into the second week of running every second day. The podcast has techno music to run too and a guy that tells you when to run and when to walk, so you don’t have to look at your watch. its called from the couch to 5K in 9 weeks. We are on week 2 which means we run for 9 minutes already. In intervals of 1minute and 30 seconds with a walk in between. It sounds easy, but when the guys says lets speed back up for the 5th time, you want to kill him or at least make him wax his legs or something. I’ve been walking everyday too. A couple of times I’ve finished my walk and gone straight into the creek.

We walk and run with Emily in the jogging stroller. She loves the running, but sometimes gets bored with the walking. She sings to herself while we are doing “The Loop” around town. Man we would love to be back at the “8″. Running the lakes would be so much more fun. I want to get one of those behind your bike style baby carts. I think you can get them cheaper at a MEC gear swap. I’m hoping we can pick one up soon because I love to ride my bike.

I’m getting my wedding ring and engagement rings soldered together this week. I talked to my jeweler and they think its a good idea to do. The two rings rubbing together can make them wear down really fast. I’m not sure I’ll like them that way, but here’s hoping. She said she didn’t recommend I get that done if I only wore my wedding band to work or something, but I always wear both. I guess I could see it if I wore rubber gloves all day or something like that. My engagement ring would be to sticky outey for that. I can pick up my rings tomorrow. I feel nakey without them on.

Em is waking up. I think we’ll walk down to the library and check the mail. The Library has cardboard books for Em so I think we’ll pick some new ones up today. Oh and Em got some new Robeez today. They are so cute(brown w/hearts). She changed sizes again. We picked some new ones from the catalogue (white trainers)and they’ll be here next month.

Fun in the Sun Day

I conquered some fears today. I borrowed My father -in-laws car and drove a standard in the city. So funny to be nervous about it because I drive stick all the time at home. If anything I should be nervous to drive auto. Then I parallel parked too. not something I’m nervous about, but I never have to do it at home. There is almost always somewhere to park without parallel parking.Larry’s car drives like a dream. I loved it.

Once again I got lost in surrey. I dont know how I did, but I did. I’ve only driven through Surrey twice, but both times I got lost. I think I get it know though. I was on the phone with Morgan looking for directions and we had a typical “Morgan/Courtenay – english mix-up.” I said I was following a neurotic driver. He said “do you mean erratic?” I was like “no shes pretty neurotic”. The whole time he thought I was saying errotic driver. It was funny.

I got to spend the day with Juliet, Leah and her boys. Got to meet my new little Neff Neff finally. Ikey-ohkey-oh is the cutest little guy. We took the tiny tots to the spray park. Silas and Em ran around in their swim diapers. It was so cute. I still cant post pics here, but when I get home there will be oodles. At one point Silas put his face down to look at this drain and thats when the water shot up and into his face. It went right up his nose. It was so funny. Em took a super face dive into the pavement. She has a nice road rash forehead. Its all torn up. They loves it to pieces. I wish we had a spray park.

We went to Juliets for din din. We have good pizzas and salad. Em and Silad smashed eachothers heads into the window and giggled. It made me laugh so hard that Em found someone to rough house with that just pushes back without crying about it. He even sat on her without her being bugged by it. At one point I was holding Issac and Emily cam and sat on my lap then Silas came and sat on Emily. It was cute. I cant wait till I get the pictures up.

It was a weird day for Emily. She refused to sleep all day. She snoozed for 10 minutes in the car on the way to abbotsford, 5 on the way to the spray park and like 20 on the way home. She screamed from surrey all the way home. It was brutal. I handed her off to nanny and got into the shortbread to take a breather. She’s finishing her bottle and then going to beddy bye baby. I can hardly wait. I hate it when shes grumpy. here’s to a good non-grumpy day tomorrow

MLE

Today M.L.E.(just figured this out playing with her blocks…sound it out) Gave me a shiner. I was laying on my back on the floor playing with her and she was all cuddly which doesn’t happen very often. Then she said “up”(her newest word). She stood up tripped on her own leg and came crashing down on my face. She sent my glasses flying which cut my eyelid(stings like a…something that stings). They she was so excited to go grab my glasses that she didn’t even cry. My mom was on a conference call so yelling “I hate Pain” (thanks for that one Heidi) was out of the question. Ill have to remember and do that later.(I’m feeling bracket happy today)

Yesterday we went to the park with Georgia and Flynn. Oh but first a musical interlude…”don dun daaaaah”. We stopped at the moose and I whined to the lady about wishing that you could get a cold London Fog like how you get Chai Frappe’s. She was like oh. We could make that. Its a London Frost. I proceeded to jump up and down and spin around and sing “I’m a little teapot” at the top of my lungs. Or I said “YAY!” and ordered a London Frost, which I will be ordering for the rest of the summer as a healthy alternative to slushies, which suck! Ok back to the park.

We put the tiny tots in the swings and then let them go down the slide. They loved it. I have the hardest time keeping MLE from eating the pea gravel. She’s still teething and still has only 2 teeth. Then we took them down to the creek to let them play in the mud. MLE was in her element. Nakey as the day she was born and covered in MUD. Flynn was in baby hell. He apparently doesn’t like to be dirty or touch grass. Poor little guy was not so excited to be dirty. We’ll have to work on that. I have a couple of good pictures from playing in the park.
