“Time not important. Only life important.”- Mondoshawan. A lovely little tidbit from the Fifth Element. A favorite movie of mine. My <strike>Week</strike> <strike>Month</strike> … LIFE is crazy. I feel like I fight and fight for more time to get things done. When I do have time nothing gets done, but when I don’t have time I NEED to get things done. The things I want to do, I don’t. The things I don’t want to do, thats what I end up doing. Whoa Romans 7 Moment. But it’s true. I get caught up in the everyday things and leave the big picture in pieces. Its an everyday struggle to just be. Always doing, doing, doing. Wanting to be, be, be.

I want to play my guitar and paint and take pictures and play with Emily and finish reading my book, and finish writing my book, and design something, and practice my German. And cook, and highlight stuff(geek I know), and draw, and write songs, and memorize scripture, and write a children’s book, and exercise consistently, and have time to plan youth thing. I just needed to remind myself that I want to do those things.

Sometimes I get carried away and don’t do any of those things. I forget I even like to. I’m back to being the all all or nothing girl again. If I cant paint a Rembrandt I think I’ll paint nothing. If I cant write a song in 10 minutes I think Ill just skip it all together. I get my point. haha. I just needed to write this down.

Don’t worry I’ll tell Emily’s poop story tomorrow. It’s a gooder. Heres another Fifth Element Tidbit. If you dont get it go watch it.

Leeloo: Leeloo Dallas mul-ti-pass.
Korben Dallas: Yeah.
Leeloo: Mul-ti-pass.
Korben Dallas: Yeah, multipass, she knows it’s a multipass. Leeloo Dallas. This is my wife.
Leeloo: Mul-ti-pass.
Korben Dallas: We’re newlyweds. Just met. You know how it is. We bumped into each other, sparks happen…
Leeloo: Mul-ti-pass.
Korben Dallas: Yes, she knows it’s a multipass. Anyway, we’re in love.

Sooo tired. Caaan’t sleep. grr. I should be napping right now while Emily is sleeping, but I cant. I just stared at my ceiling for a while then gave up. We went to a friends house for a campfire last night and stayed up too late, but that was ok. Then when I got home I couldn’t fall asleep. I think I dozed off at like 4:30 or something. At least the campfire was super relaxing. The last couple of weeks have been go go go go, so it was nice to just chill out and enjoy the night. Yay hooray for being able to get a babysitter last minute.

So I go in to wake Emily up this morning because she is going to go with me to staff meeting. Bye the time I got there she was already awake. Standing there in her crib with NO clothes on. Diaper gonzo! not good not good! panic! This is gonna be gross. I guess this was just a warning for next time. No messes to clean up. YAY! She must have only taken the diapey off in the few minutes before I got her or we would have had issues. I thought she had managed to get all her clothes off, but I guess the sitter put her down in just a diaper cause there wasn’t a sleeper to be found. Whew. Takes me back. Apparently my parents called me Houdini baby and had to pin my sleepers on backwards to keep me in them. Please no baby finger painting! NOOOO!

We went to the garlic festival on the weekend. It was pretty fun. Morgan cached in one of his triple dog dares to get me to eat a spicy clove of garlic. It was ok at first cause I like garlic, but after a sec my mouth was on fire!!!! Then I didn’t feel so good. My stomach was like “You jerk!”. so We went to another concession and got some delicious ribbettes and a big bottle of water for me to down. I think I probably still smell like garlic 2 days later. healthy though. I tried a garlic Jelly Bean. It was good. Maybe not my snack of choice, but good none the less.

We took Emily to see the Llamas. LLAMA FACE!!(sorry couldn’t help myself – Emperors new groove – See it!) She loves them. There was this “winner” standing out side the petting cage smoking with serious 80′s Ray bans. I was talking to the petting zoo guy about the pictures they offer. I said “could she get her picture taken with a sheep or something”. About then the “winner” pipes up.”Thats a llama!”. I was like “um duh. I meant the sheep over there. The one that looks like a sheep”. Ok I didn’t say that, but I wanted too. I wanted to be like”Actually it’s an alpaca, Mr. Winner”.

He then gets his little girl who is about 4 or 5 to come out and they walk away with him blowing smoke all around her. I cant really handle that. They know stuff now that they didn’t years ago. Nobody thought second hand smoke was bad before, but it IS! I so wanted to be like “Um Mr. Winner. Your damaging your daughters lungs and I hope she sues you when she gets older!”. Sorry. I just get frustrated by people whose habits effect kids. Its dumb. It should be considered child abuse to smoke in your car with the windows up and kids or babies in the car. It would be if you put any other kind of smoke or gas in there for them to breathe. Done ranting. Sorry

Heres a couple of pictures of Em and the Alpaca/sheep/llama/elephant.

The internet has a hole. I’m serious. Lets take this back a ways. This whole thing started when my sister got her hair cut into a Mullet. For those of you not familiar with the mullet check out this page. Especially the unfortunullett. Anyways… I digress. back to my sisters mullet. There are no good pictures or even songs to describe my sisters mullet. Luckily it isn’t an unfortunullet because she know she has it and is trying to think of a good way to deal with that. ok so this is where the hole comes in. The only way to describe Roxy’s mullet is to call her Linda from the wedding singer. If you haven’t seen The Wedding Singer you have other problems, but Linda has a serious 80′s mullet. Do you think we can find a picture of Linda anywhere???NO!!! what? There is actually something missing on the internet. What if I was 12 and doing my home work and I asked jeeves what Linda’s mullet looked like. Jeeves would probably freak out and all the planes in the world would crash or something. Someone needs to fix this hole and Roxy’s mullet ASAP or the very world could implode. P.S. “Roxy get out of my Van Halen t-shirt before you jinx the band and they break up!”

As for my daughters cuteness factor… She’s 15 months now and chatty like a choo choo. Her favy thing to say right now is “Rock-a-bye-Be”. So she misses it a bit, its still sooo cute. She grabs her doll and rocks it back and forth. Everything is a baby to her. Its the most common word she uses. “bye bye baby ducky” “bye baby daddy”"baby baby up rock baby daddy”. You get the picture. Morgan taught her to go “ho ha he ha ho” when he says “What does Yoko Ono say? So I taught her to go “uh huh” and put her lip up when I say “What does Elvis say?”. Some times she gets them all confused and when we ask her what daddy says she does Elvis or Yoko. She makes me laugh so hard.

She is just waking up right now. Singing and chatting to herself. She has been teething so badly. We have had several days of endless screaming. Nothing helps. Not Tylenol, not the ice cube in the cloth trick, not gin, nothing. You can even see her teeth. They are so close to the surface. It looks like she has rice stuck to her gums. Man teething would hurt. I am so sick of it and Em only has 2 teeth. grr. Today she was eating peas, but she kept saying poop. She gets things mixed up. haha.

Morgans shift changed this week. His weekends got cut so he started working regular week. It sucks. We are used to having daddy home so much more. Its a big change for us and its only been a few days. Last summer we traveled for 6 weeks. We didnt realize how awesome that was until now. Although it is nice to be in our own house for more than 2 days in a row. We are really hoping to make it out to the lake for a few weekends in August. We were just out there with Nathan and Danielle. We had such a fun time. It was so relaxing. Only the second time We’ve brought friends out to the lake with us. We were stoked that their schedule matched up enough with ours that they could come.

I think she’s up now. Dinner time.

We went to the late show at Silver City last night. I wanted to se rattatouille and Morgan wanted to see Die Hard. So what did we see. Yep thats right Die Hard. Maybe I’m a sissy and like kid show I dont know. I just dont like killing movies. Im such a wimp. I wont watch C.S.I. or any of those shows with morgan. Im just not into them. But I am into Live Free or Die Hard. It was stinkin awesome. When violence is totalloy fake and the explosions are awesome and Bruce Willis humour, all the planets align to make one super movie. And the young kid thats in it is so funny too. Haveing been somewhat blah about Pirates 3 I was very stoked to watch such a fun action movie. Its like True Lies meets 007 meets 5th Element meets Italian Job meets Enemy of the state meets…well alot of other good movies. Def Def not for kids. The language was rough, but otherwise I give it a good review. Our favy line is from right at the begining when John (cop)goes to pick up the kid(hacker) and he asks if he is Matthew and the kid says no. Then his neighbour walks up and says “hey Matt wanna watch this with us” and Matt says “no thanks, but good luck at the bad timing awards.” Maybe hard to get outside of the show, but totally cracked us up. Good plot, good twists, good action, good blowey uppy parts, good one-liners, good good Movie. Haha

Today we went out to Surrey to meet our friend Karyn for lunch at Whitespot. Emily proceeded to eat half a crayon and throw chicken at passersby while smiling at them and saying hi. It was cute. We cam back to Richmond to drop off Em and are headed back out and to Langley to meet our Cousins for Dinnah. Lots of driving, but its oh-so-nice to drop off the kidlet and be out past turn-into-a-grumpy-pumpkin hour. So we are killing time until Larry gets home and Em can stay here. I think she’s waking up so Id better go.

Last night we watched this sweet new show called Eureka. Its really cool. I’ve only seen one episode so far, but I’m hoping I like them all this much. Season one is over and season two starts in July, but I’m going to have to track these down. I think there might even be a “Firefly” good quality to this show. I’m holding out for great things. Heres a snippet:
“For years, the government has been secretly relocating the world’s geniuses (and their families) to the idyllic Pacific Northwest town of Eureka, where daily life straddles the line between unprecedented innovation and total chaos. When U.S. Marshal Jack Carter (Ferguson) wrecks his car and becomes stranded in Eureka, he quickly realizes that all is not what it seems. After the town’s eccentric inhabitants unleash a brainchild with a catastrophic aftermath, Carter steps in to restore order and consequently is let in on one of our country’s best-kept secrets.”
Sounds great to me. Gotta love snippets.
I’m starting to feel a bit better today. My head still feels a bit clogged, but overall I’m feeling a lot better. I hate being sick. It sucks. I’m pretty sure Emily is over her cold too. She’s acting more like herself again.
Along with moving the T.V. downstairs we got to sort more things and get rid of more junk. We sorted through 4 boxes of China and only kept 2. We Binned them and for a place upstairs for them so now they are usable. Morgans china had been boxed since the he lived at the cedars 3 and a half years ago. I’m happy to keep some china and I’m happy its usable again.
The constrains of baby proofing. I find myself ever frustrated at the baby proofing things around our house. From plug to those stupid cupboard latches. They are driving me nuts. I’m glad that Emily is safe, but I wish there was another way. Maybe Ill have to invent one.
