Happy Anniversary Morgan!

My little darling is currently screaming at the top of her little lungs. It’s much past bedtime and the tiny tot feels the need to scream DADDY! I’m feeling slightly bad for her, but she really just needs to go to sleep. She doesn’t normally do this. Turkey. Anyways. Its my 5th Anniversary tomorrow! Can barely believe its been that long. Wow. 5 years, 5 houses, 5 vehicles, 5…you get the idea. We went to loon lake for the week to get away and have a relaxing time. That we did. We went boating and quading and read books and just had a great time in general. I always love the lake in the fall. It’s so beautiful! The leaves are starting to turn and the air is crisp. Here’s a couple shots for you.

Ok so back to my 5 year anniversary. Here’s a little blip of our story for those of you who don’t know Morgan and I very well.

I met Morgan on the morning of September 11th 2001. Not exactly a great day to meet, because of the whole twin towers thing, but a beginning is a beginning. We went to the same bible college, but I went the semester after he did. I’m glad of that because I’m pretty sure school would have been lost to a pair of golden eyes, some baggy jeans and an eyebrow ring. Morgan moved to 100 Mile the very next day and began working at my church as a youth pastor. Then he started working for my Dad. Not in some kind of Jacob working for Rachel’s Dad kinda way though otherwise he’s still have 2 more years before getting married. And Roxy wouldn’t have been happy about it either. Look it up if you want to understand that one. Genesis something. Anyways. I continued on a school being very studious and excited to learn more about God and get to know him (God, not Morgan. That was later in our story).

I finished school and went to to do a 6 month practicum out at Lake of the Trees Bible camp. I spent a little more time getting to know this young city guy because I was only half an hour away now. Besides being VERY good looking this coffee carry young guy had an amazing voice. I think I fell in love with his voice first. He could have sang the phone book and I would have thought it was amazing. That same September I moved back home and began working for my parents. Working with someone gives you a whole new look at their personality and the way they deal with different things. It was good chance for me to get to know the things about Morgan that make him happy and the things that tick him off. I think lots of people get into relationship having no idea how the other person deals with anger. I’m glad I knew up front that Morgan was on of those guys who deals with anger well. I may have been stuck with love, but I wasn’t planning on being blind to those kind of important things.

On March 27th 2006 I hinted to Morgan that I liked jazz and that there was a jazz concert coming to town. Little did I know that Morgan had done more than plan on a jazz concert. He talked to my dad! What guys does that these days. Seriously. Did I mind? No! Morgan asked my dad if he could date me. My dad then proceeded to laugh in Morgans face and suggest he ask me first. So that Sunday Morgan and I went on our first date to a Donny Clark Jazz concert. It was a night to remember. The jazz was great, but it had nothing on sitting near Morgan. Im lame I know. For the record, most people get over that lameness in 8th grade. Morgan was my first boyfriend. Last too. haha. Somewhere during the evening, after the concert between Tim Hortons coffee and the Lion King Morgan grabbed my hand and never let it go. Six months later we got married on a beautiful day 5 years ago tomorrow. We spent the last 5 years getting to know each other, but I imagine we will spend the next bazillion doing that too. And, Im still in love with his voice!

Vacation!

I’m going on vacation tomorrow!! Every year we go to Loon Lake either the week before or the week after our anniversary! I’m really excited. We didn’t think we were going to be able to go, but we are now! I really didn’t want to just give up our time away. Its like a tradition. A five year tradition already! The only time I think I’d ever give up my week at the lake would be if we were world traveling somewhere. I could make the sacrifice for a week in Europe. Plus we get a baby holiday too. “Aunti Dano” is taking Em for a couple days so we will actually get to relax. We thought there was going to be more people out at the lake with us, but no one else could come. Sad:( But I’m still excited. We are going to take oodles of delicious pictures while we are gone.

Ok so here’s the best news in forever. The doctor said that on a scale of 1 to 5, 1 being cancerous and 5 being cancer free, my grama is a 5!!!!! Cancer is gonzo!Bye bye! asta la vista baby! Our prayers have been answered! God did what no one else could have. Ahh. I could freak out Im soo happy about it.Woot Woot!

There is alot going on this week and next, so I’m going to try and stay ontop of it all and keep blogging, but no promises. I hear the stairs, so I think we have to go film the video announcements. check out the last few here. They are funny.

Looong

I’m not even sure I know where to begin. This whole blog thing started out as an 8 minute’s a day journey into journaling. hmm Journey Journal. I like that. For the last couple weeks I’ve been making myself work really hard at getting things done, and left behind all the things I felt like doing. The worst part is that I think my kitchen is still a mess and my laundry still needs doing. Its pathetic really. Part of the problem is that I’ve been juggling computers and finally have myself set all comfortable on the computer at work, but this computer at home is all a mess again. I don’t do well with mess. I’m too AR for that. Anyways enough lamenting my time losses lets get down to business. ooo where to start.

Emily has a new little cousin! Morgans Cousin’s Chris and EK had a beautiful Baby Boy. I can hardly contain myself in waiting to hear what his name is. Soo cant wait for a serious snuggle. Congrats and way to go EK!

Emily’s still having a hard time with mosquito bites going all crazy and swelling up. Im not sure what we are going to do about that, but I’m doing some research to see if there is anything else we can give her. Last week she got bit on the eyelid and here eye swelled shut. It was ok, so I left her with a babysitter for a few hours, but it got much worse, and even though we were out of cell range our babysitter called Hiedi and they took Em to the hospital. Again! Poor little duck. I think she’s developing a taste for benedryl. She keeps asking for it now. She cringes when she takes it, but for some reason she bucks up and just takes the stuff. I wish the child chewables were enough for her to take.

The last few weeks has proved to have some VERY interesting conversations with Emily. Heres a few for you, so you get the idea.

This one was in church. She was siting in between Mitchell(12) and his cousin Vasti(3).

Vasti: I sit by Mitchell?
Emily: (puts her hand on Vashti’s shoulder) “Im Emily, and he’s mine.”

Scary for a mother I know. haha.

This one proves she’s been at daycare a bit too much. When asked her name Emily responded: “Emily Grace Payette.”

We went to Loon lake last weekend. It was soooo relaxing for me. I got to hang out with my gramma, who is seriously kicking Cancer’s big fat butt! And spend some time with Poppa. We went swimming and played cards. It was really nice to just relax for a while. Plus it was beautiful at the lake. I even Suntanned, which I never do because I dont want to look like old leather, and I dont really have time ever. Plus I burn like a lobster normally. I think I had one of those moments that continues to happen to me. My mom kindly pointed out that I had something on the corner of my mouth. “Food?” I asked, wiping one side of my mouth. “Other side” my mom said. So I licked it. What she failed to mention was that, not only, was the”something” on the otherside of my mouth, it was also a bug! So I licked it. ewwwww. But, lucky for me, I got to make My Mom and my sister cry laughing late at night.  How Special.

My big girl. 2 and 1/4 years old.

Morgan went to Kamloops today and brought me home a present. Firstly, I love presents!! Its a Magic Bullet!!! I’ve wanted one forever! I love them oodles, but its all together rather frivolous because I have a great blender already. The thing is, that the magic bullet is so compact and fantastic. So I made everyone smoothies after dinner. They were yummy x 10! But then, what happened. My daughter who is pretty stinkin close to being totally potty trained has to pee. So morgan takes her to the potty and she does her business and gets a treat. Then I decide I’d better at least get the dish washer on, and start doing dishes. I forget that my smoothie is waiting for me. Calling my name even. Well apparently I offened it, becuase when I reached over top of it to get something, it leaped of the counter and…well…let’s just say it was an instant replay of the time I dook the mixing beaters out of the shortbread while still on high speed. EVERYWHERE! I died laughing right there. Morgan thought I did it on purpose, but then he realized it was just as funny as I thought it was. mmm blueberry walls.

oops I just realized that I don’t think I cleaned it off those paintings. haha.

This week has been an up and down week for me. The last couple actually. Camp SumMore Fun VBS, was sooo fun, Prepping for Tekskool is really fun too, but in the middle of all of that I had a memorial to go to.

My friend from High School Jamie passed away from Cancer. It was really sad. I was really sad. There have been a number of young people who have passed away in the last couple years, but I haven’t known any of them as well as I knew Jamie. we were percussionists together. We were in sports together. We had classes together and we even worked together in the mall when I worked for my dad, he worked a few stores down. Jamie was a really great guy. When he was 14 he started coming to youth. He had cancer in his eye and so we were praying for him alot. The cancer took his eye, and Jamie stopped coming to youth. It was really hard to have a prayer answered no. Then when the cancer came back earlier this year, I was praying again. I was really unsure why that would happen again to such a great guy.  I know the right answers to those kinds of questions, but its still hard to hear. The best part of Jamie’s story was that the pastor who did Jamies service said that he spent time with Jamie in the month before he died, and he was 100% confident that Jamie was able to re-connect with God and get things straight before he went home.

I have many more stories to share with you, but tonight I think I leave it at that. Laters Jamie, We’ll see you in the blink of an eye. Luv-a-bud Perc.

Damsel In Distress

I am getting so good at this whole rescue the damsel thing. I guess this one is technically my fault, but really no. On his way home from work last night at midnight, my darling husband ran out of gas. Lucky for him I had a friend over and could go and get him. It was funny. *SIDE NOTE – Freshmint gum and Pepsi tastes like yucky*

I’m most of the way through my school application. Here’s hoping that all goes well. I’ve been reading alot about the Speech Language Pathologist Assistant program and I find is crazy interesting. I’m hoping to start as soon as possible, but we’ll see. I’ve already missed the deadline for October, but if things go smooth , I could make it in for November. I don’t think I’d start until January otherwise. December is always so crazy. Cant believe I’m planning into December. I think I will do well with online schooling. I’m pretty good at self motivating. I’ll have to use my time better, but at this point I can do what I need to when I need to.

Roxy is moving home today!! I’m all excited. That kid can make me laugh…seriously. She starts her new jorb on the weekend. I think it will be neat for her to be around Emily more, because Em loves her “Auntie Roxy Pirate YAARRR!” so much. I have her picture on our fridge. Emily waves and says goo morning to it. Its cute. Its amazing how her little mind works.

We have a 24 hour worship thing on Saturday – Sunday. I’m looking forward to it. I was supposed to play for alot of it, but I think I’m only play a few hours now. I don’t think I could have lasted that long. haha. oops that reminds me I need to phone my babysitter and confirm stuff.

I put all my Loon like pix up on my Facebook. It just uploads better than WordPress and has unlimited space. Then I dont have to shrink the pics either. Here is a couple though for you.

Clips and Pix

Hope you enjoyed my pain this weekend and my Joy as you perused Emily’s Birth story. If you haven’t yet, feel free. I’m getting feedback that is saying you cant forget to capitalize the password or it wont work. dumb thing. I had a great time putting it all together and the slide show was quite the reminder of how small my big toddler once was.

We had an awesome anniversary weekend at the Lake. I got a couple of clips for you to watch. I took them with my still camera so they aren’t great, but I’m sure you’ll love them. I’m trying to get more clips of the things Emily says, cause its so stinkin cute. This weekend she learned “(s)Tove is Hot”. Today she started Shhhh-ing people. I guess Morgan must do that cause I don’t think I do. Could be wrong. I taught her “Just a sec” without even knowing it.

Emily got some new clothes from Grandpa and Nanny. There is even a onsie that says “Yo Ho Ho and a bottle of Milk.” Its got a baby pirate on it. I love it. Just 2 days late for international Talk like a Pirate day. Sad Sad.

Season Premiere of Heroes tonight!!! Its Tivo-ing right now. I cant handle the suspense. Its driving me crazy. Emily is sleeping right now too so I could be watching it, but I’m waiting so Morgan and I can watch it together. Secretly hoping I don’t forget to tell him to wait until tomorrow to watch it with me. Its going to be great I just know it. How could it not be.

I had my appointment with the Counselor today. I have to wait and see if I’m eligible for the school program or not. It hasn’t even been 24 hours and the suspense is killing me. Then I have an appointment to see what funding there is for me and then I can apply to the school. I hate waiting. If I’m going to go to school I just want it to start tomorrow. Ok Im pretty patient. I can wait. I’m just doing more research on the course online instead.

Without further adieu here, for you very much ocular enjoyment…the clips and the pix.

No more Mr. Nice Story.

I am now overly angry. I wrote a nice story and had some pictures and it freaked out and erased it. AHHH!

Heres the recap cause Im not writing it again:

Em went mud bogging and we ended up staying at the lake an extra day

Congrats to Cara and Chad for finishing Cadet Camp

It was awesome to reconnect with Kayla and Chad after so long.

The internet has a hole. I’m serious. Lets take this back a ways. This whole thing started when my sister got her hair cut into a Mullet. For those of you not familiar with the mullet check out this page. Especially the unfortunullett. Anyways… I digress. back to my sisters mullet. There are no good pictures or even songs to describe my sisters mullet. Luckily it isn’t an unfortunullet because she know she has it and is trying to think of a good way to deal with that. ok so this is where the hole comes in. The only way to describe Roxy’s mullet is to call her Linda from the wedding singer. If you haven’t seen The Wedding Singer you have other problems, but Linda has a serious 80′s mullet. Do you think we can find a picture of Linda anywhere???NO!!! what? There is actually something missing on the internet. What if I was 12 and doing my home work and I asked jeeves what Linda’s mullet looked like. Jeeves would probably freak out and all the planes in the world would crash or something. Someone needs to fix this hole and Roxy’s mullet ASAP or the very world could implode. P.S. “Roxy get out of my Van Halen t-shirt before you jinx the band and they break up!”

As for my daughters cuteness factor… She’s 15 months now and chatty like a choo choo. Her favy thing to say right now is “Rock-a-bye-Be”. So she misses it a bit, its still sooo cute. She grabs her doll and rocks it back and forth. Everything is a baby to her. Its the most common word she uses. “bye bye baby ducky” “bye baby daddy”"baby baby up rock baby daddy”. You get the picture. Morgan taught her to go “ho ha he ha ho” when he says “What does Yoko Ono say? So I taught her to go “uh huh” and put her lip up when I say “What does Elvis say?”. Some times she gets them all confused and when we ask her what daddy says she does Elvis or Yoko. She makes me laugh so hard.

She is just waking up right now. Singing and chatting to herself. She has been teething so badly. We have had several days of endless screaming. Nothing helps. Not Tylenol, not the ice cube in the cloth trick, not gin, nothing. You can even see her teeth. They are so close to the surface. It looks like she has rice stuck to her gums. Man teething would hurt. I am so sick of it and Em only has 2 teeth. grr. Today she was eating peas, but she kept saying poop. She gets things mixed up. haha.

Morgans shift changed this week. His weekends got cut so he started working regular week. It sucks. We are used to having daddy home so much more. Its a big change for us and its only been a few days. Last summer we traveled for 6 weeks. We didnt realize how awesome that was until now. Although it is nice to be in our own house for more than 2 days in a row. We are really hoping to make it out to the lake for a few weekends in August. We were just out there with Nathan and Danielle. We had such a fun time. It was so relaxing. Only the second time We’ve brought friends out to the lake with us. We were stoked that their schedule matched up enough with ours that they could come.

I think she’s up now. Dinner time.

What a Mc-awesome day. It stayed gorgeous all day. When we got to Loon Lake I put Emily down for a nap and Roxy and I went exploring. We took the camera too so you’ll see some of those at the end of this post. We went across the creek and even found a couple of places we hadn’t been before. Mostly because of this rule about crossing through fences. I mean it was a good idea and all. A 10 year old would make a lovely snack for a bear. As usual I couldn’t help myself I ended up with my shoes off wading out to a log to stand on it. I didn’t get too too wet. Well at least I dried off before we got back. I think I still have prickle bushes in my jeans. Poppa made us wear these…uh…sweet…hats.

We fixed up the golf course. Put up the flags and de-cow-poop-ified everything. Then we had a round of golf. I’ve discovered that my long game is great. My short game…not so much. My dad got a hole in one. Roxy did too, but we weren’t playing that hole. haha. Overall it was a great day. We even made it home in time to see Morgan before he had to go to bed for work in the morning.
I had a bath with Emily tonight. I mostly stopped doing that except for the occasional shower. I don’t think she’s to big yet, but she usually has more fun playing by herself. Tonight we both needed a bath and I needed to keep her up longer before bed so into the bath we went. Em is so fascinated with my belly button ring. It’s funny. she pokes me and says “ohhhhh”. We had a really nice cuddle, Emily sang me a very nice song she made up and then I got her ready for bed.

She has been more cuddly lately. It’s nice. I’m ok with her not being cuddly cause I think I’m the one who really likes it most. Pastor Rick and Marci came over the other day and Emily crawled up to Pastor Rick and when he picked her up she just lay her head down on him and cuddled. It was so cute. She did that again with my Grampa today. I love it when she’s like that with other people.
