Am I Boring…

I totally wanted to blog yesterday, but the call of the sleep hit me harder and I went to bed. Normally I get a chance to blog in the morning or during nap time, but niether worked out well for yesterday. It`s a good thing too because yesterday I would have spent the whole blog telling you how nuts Emily had been all day. All the LONG day. I might as well have fed her a bowl of sugar.Wooo crazy child. Today she`s still acting her age, but I`m not looking up postage prices on sending a 32 lb parcel to Siberia…if you catch my drift.

My Mom and I went for a walk at Lunch time yesterday. It was so beautiful out. I made Emily walk as much as she would to wear her out. We walked all the way around Sepa Lake mudhole. *whoa, my keyboard switched into french on its own. odd ééé. * I`ll have to figure that out laker, but for now I guess I can`t use slashes and the apostrophe( which I just learned is a verb in french aswell) is weird too. Where was I… Ah the lake. The water is down so far that the 2 lakes don`t even come closr to connecting anymore. Its kinda sad. Speaking of lakes…I get to go Kayaking tomorrow!!

A friend from church is taking me! I think we`re going to Canim Lake. When I worked at Lake of the Trees, someone donated a Kayak, but I had to duct tape part of it and it just went in circles, so I don`t call that Kayaking. I even subscribed to a Kayaking magazine for a while. I wish I trusted myself enough to take my camera with me, but theres no way I`m taking it out with me. Morgan has this saying that goes something like `Courtenay can`t go near water without getting wet`. It`s true. I think I`m like a labrador that`s poorly trained. I just can`t help myself. My goal for tomorrow is to get my feet wet, but nothing else unless everyone gets wet. We`ll see how I do.

Its going to be a long day away from Avery and Emily. I`ve been away from Em before, but I`ve only left Aves for a couple hours at a time. Tomorrow I`ll be gone from 10 til dinner time, so most of the day. I`m sure Daddy and his girls will be just fine. I`m really happy to have a me day.

I used to do alot of crazy things and then I got married and had kids, and now I`m downright boring. A couple weeks ago a friend asked me what my hobbies were. I wan`t to say all my old hobbies: snowboarding, rock climbing, skateboarding(Im banned from skateboarding by MK, but thats another story), Mountain biking and all sorts of other crazy stuff, but I couldn`t say those things since I hadn`t done any of them in forever. So I ended up saying reading and blogging or something. I always said I would love to be one of those crazy skydiving grammas, but who knows, maybe I`ll end up one of those knitting gramas who enjoys bridge. So I`m excited to do one of the kind of fun things I used to do before I became boring.

The good thing is that I like boring. I`ve learned some really cool cooking and baking recipes. I`m learning to sew, so I can make reusable diaper wipes. I love blogging and practicing my writing. Maybe one day I`ll finish my short story. I love reading and getting into a good book. I`m enjoying learning to parent my girls and be a good Mom. I like hanging out with Morgan and a cup of coffee. Sometimes I do miss being spontanious and never going anywhere without my guitar, but I`ve replaced each of the things I loved to do with something that is of greater value. I could snowboard all winter on weekends, but I spend Sunday at church growing closer to the Lord, playing the drums and spending time with church family. I could rock climb all over this beautiful province (I still hope to climb some places), but I`d rather be helping Emily collect cool rocks in the yard. I could mountain bike all over the gorgeous Cariboo, but I`d rather be tickling Aves to get a smile or a coo out of her. I could be wild and crazy, but I think I`d rather be boring.

Damsel In Distress

I am getting so good at this whole rescue the damsel thing. I guess this one is technically my fault, but really no. On his way home from work last night at midnight, my darling husband ran out of gas. Lucky for him I had a friend over and could go and get him. It was funny. *SIDE NOTE – Freshmint gum and Pepsi tastes like yucky*

I’m most of the way through my school application. Here’s hoping that all goes well. I’ve been reading alot about the Speech Language Pathologist Assistant program and I find is crazy interesting. I’m hoping to start as soon as possible, but we’ll see. I’ve already missed the deadline for October, but if things go smooth , I could make it in for November. I don’t think I’d start until January otherwise. December is always so crazy. Cant believe I’m planning into December. I think I will do well with online schooling. I’m pretty good at self motivating. I’ll have to use my time better, but at this point I can do what I need to when I need to.

Roxy is moving home today!! I’m all excited. That kid can make me laugh…seriously. She starts her new jorb on the weekend. I think it will be neat for her to be around Emily more, because Em loves her “Auntie Roxy Pirate YAARRR!” so much. I have her picture on our fridge. Emily waves and says goo morning to it. Its cute. Its amazing how her little mind works.

We have a 24 hour worship thing on Saturday – Sunday. I’m looking forward to it. I was supposed to play for alot of it, but I think I’m only play a few hours now. I don’t think I could have lasted that long. haha. oops that reminds me I need to phone my babysitter and confirm stuff.

I put all my Loon like pix up on my Facebook. It just uploads better than WordPress and has unlimited space. Then I dont have to shrink the pics either. Here is a couple though for you.

I think memorable is the best way to describe my weekend at avalanche. There were good things and bad things thats for sure. Heres a recap of the funny things. We are driving down the coquahalla when the van starts to sound a bit too much like a Suzuki. We pull over and the van is now toast. Yay for Elisha who saved the day having only caught up to us 10 minutes before coming from Vancouver. So Leesh saves the day! We get there and all is going well. We set up tents and head for the conference. Skip ahead a bit until Saturday night. The day has been pretty good so far and we stay up a bit late for a concert and then head back to camp. I’m wondering…did you ever played with dominoes as a kid? I did, but nothing even compares to coming back to the camp and finding that 2 of the 3 huge tents have played dominoes while you were away. I’ll admit, not everyone thought it was as funny as I did. Ok mostly they did. Skip ahead a bit more to Sunday Morning. At the church service they had this drumming contest. They asked who could drum so my group yelled me and I ran up to the front. I jumped on stage to meet my competition who happens to be a guy I know from Williams lake. Imagine that! Rival towns drumming it up. We played stomp on these barrels full of blue and red paint. It was awesome. My dress is now perma tye dyed. Well I lost, but it was a cheer contest so It could have happened to anyone. But I won a t-shirt. YAY.

We are working on a video for Youth and Church. I’m loving all the stuff we have so far. Its awesome. Ill try to put it up as soon as possible. Anyways. I’m zonked from a long weekend without much sleep so Im gonna go get a coffee and chill out.

Oh yeah and we got given a new hugemongous awesome HD LCD flat screen T.V. YAYAYAY!!! Just in time for the season finale of Heroes. Which rocked by the way.

Resurrection Sunday.

Probably the best day ever. My life would be absolutely meaningless without Resurrection Sunday. Well not the one in 2007, but the one a long time ago when Jesus rose from the dead. It really makes my life worth living. The thought of living this life without the knowledge that Jesus died for me and then rose again is…well sad. But today I am full of joy instead. Todays Easter service was great. I really enjoyed it. I had a blast playing the drums today. I even heard a few new rhythms come out of these hands.

Emily and I went for a really really long walk. It didn’t start out as a long walk, but it ended up that way. We were going to do the big loop around town. It takes about 45 minutes normally. We made it all the way around the loop and were headed past Save On when I realized that Emily had turfed her hat out of the stroller. AHH. That hat cost me 1 penny on Ebay + S&H. How could she be so careless and throw her hat out of the buggy. Ok well I wasn’t actually mad at all. I laughed and we turned around and backtracked. I probably wouldn’t have cared, but I really like the darn little hat. Its so stinkin cute. We finally found the hat most of the way back to where we started. Haha. silly Emily.

Well tomorrow is hop back on the health wagon. no more pop and pizza. Needless to say it was a rough couple of weeks. Ill find out the damage tomorrow at the gym. I’m even going earlier than normal tomorrow because Morgan has a dentist appt. and Thats the only time I can go. I’m not really looking forward to stepping on the scale tomorrow. I’m supposed to do a weigh in too. This is the first time Ive been nervous about a weigh in. the last few were so fun because Id practically melted the weight off. I’m pretty sure I’m still at a loss for this month, but it cant be that much. I’m still in the process of writing some new realistic goals for myself. Well see how it goes, but theres no way I’m going back up. Down down down!
