Inspiration?

I had no inspiration to blog today. Then I changed the header on my blog and now I have ideas. Weird how that works. The only problem is that Emily is waking up from her nap. A little late, I know, but the stupid time change is still messing up her sleep.

Anyways. We had a great week at the coast. Got to see Leah from Pluckymama and her gorgeous boys. It was a great stop off time for Emily to run around before we had to get back on the road again. Then we hd a great time with the “out-laws”. We took Emily shoe shopping, to which her silly mother was ever so picky. I cant just put any shoe on Em. They have to be thin soled and not to chunky. We found the cutest pair at one of those kiosks in the mall, but the sole was thicker than my shoes. Why do they make kids shoes like that seriously. Robbeez are still the best, but expensive. oh well.

We left the munchkin with her Nanny and headed to Ikea!! It was fun to imagine what our “no expense to high” house could be like. Both of us picked kitchens to get done first. That would be uber cool. Then we went for a walk down to Steveston. It was a really long walk, but so nice just to talk and walk and not worry about the screamer.

The week zipped by and now were are back at home in the grind of things. Next week will hopefully be alot slower. We have been spreading ourselves way to thin and that is going to have to stop if my schooling ever gets figured out. I have another appointment next week to get everything figured out. Tedious process.

The awakening was awesome! I got to throw a stack of records off the bell tower at our church. Don’t tell me that isn’t cool. I think its on film so I’ll try to youtube that asap. The weekend was an awesome time of being challenged and drawing close to Jesus. I think I’m still just trying to process it all.

Well I think skweeker is up. Dinner time here we come!

More Cups

Firstly, Just as a side note to yesterday’s post. I decided to leave it in to prove how slow witted I can be. At 5:30 this morning Morgan got home and decided to share with me that after reading my blog he laughed at me. You’ll have to read it in context, but basically I wrote that my SIN number stood for Social Security Number. Aparently Im not quite quick enough to notice that Security in the middle of that would make my acronym SSN. Dumb, I know.

I forgot to put on here last week that Emily told me her first dream. Well the first one I know of. Im sure she’s dreamed for her whole life, but last week is the first time she’s told me one. I got her up early for something last week. When I walked in her room she was still asleep, which doesnt usually happen. Usually she hears me open the door and tryes to stand up out of a dead sleep. Somewhat humourous, I might add. But this time she stayed asleep. I started to sing the good morning song and she sat upright and said “More cups”. She signed it too. She kept saying over and over and looking around her crib for “More cups”. She never goes to bed with a cup or even really has one before bed anymore. So it was really cool because she had no reason to think of cups. Its not even her breakfast, or I’d have just thought she was hungry. So there you have it. Emily dreams of cups. Probably ones with endless “Nook” (milk)in them.

Morgan and I are taking on a two week challenge. Well really we are down to one week. If week can make it two weeks without buying groceries, then the grocerie money goes towards our new computer. It’s kindof a fun challenge. We had to buy milk for Emily, but we arent buying anything but bare minimum for one more week. We have oodles of food in our house, but none of it is quick to prepare. AND none of it is Pizza, chinese, or well quick. So Im hoping to come up with some different recipies to use all the meat in our freezer and even some of the canned stuff. It’s all good, it will just take some creativity to make it work.  Im always up for a challenge.

or a dare.

Morgan didnt save the picture, but we did have a picture of me wearing a childrens cow head from a halloween costume in kamloops last week. Like they really thought I wouldnt do it. I have worn way weirder things. For sure. Don’t get me started. All of high school was weirder than that.

Lastly. Will someone remind me to buy a bathtub plug. Emily threw ours out without me knowing it and trying to plug the tub with a hairspray lid is getting annoying. Plus Em pulls it out. So please. I have to remember!!

Expose(put the accent on the last e)

Third World bathroom right in our country. Oh you are so lucky I did not have a camera with me. The place: Boston Bar. The Husky Station Bathroom! ICK! In Cuba you paid a dollar for a square of toilet paper, but even there the washrooms are nicer. I’ve used outhouses that haven’t even contained this smell. The Husky bathroom is an abomination! We decided to stop there because the gas station across the street makes you buy something to use it. Note: not such a big deal in light of the bathroom quality. If it hadn’t been for my baby wipes and purell in the car I was going to go across the street buy some stupid gum and rewash my hands. A lady took her little girl in there and I was trying to warn her.”Don’t do it.Is it really worth her life.” I’ll get over it. I might need shots, but I’ll get over it.

We had a great weekend in the Vancity. On Saturday we drove down and out trip was really good. Such a nice day and Em did good. Some of organs family from Calgary was out visiting too. I got to meet one of Morgans cousins for the first time. She and I hit it off right away. She has a little girl a bit younger than Emily and so they hit it off too. We left our kidlets with the grandmas and went the the finale of the celebration of light. I love fireworks. It was a great show. I felt like quite the tard though because I kept saying things like “Look Look.”  And “Did you see that. Wow”. Like as if they weren’t watching. Riiight. Geek award right here please.

It was Nanny and E.K.’s birthday party on Sunday. We had such a nice time with all the family out. Emily loves playing with her cousins. At one point there were four little kiddos in the pool. It was fun to watch/stop the hitting. Haha. By the end of the night the lot of them were so tired. Em slept really good. She didnt sleep in, but thats ok with me. We had church anyways.

I got a couple of good Ideas at Grandmas church. I’m hoping some of them will work out for this fall. Might find myself doing some paining again here real soon. I’ve already roped Auntie Go Go into helping me.  Em is waking up. I’ll try an attach some of the pics from the weekend on here later.

Choppy Chop Chop

Well I chopped it. I got Roxy to cut my hair stupid late last night. I always forget that my hair is so thick it takes forever to cut. I should have thought of that sooner. Jury is still out on whether I love it or not. I definitely look cuter in my hat though. Ill get someone to take my picture ASAP. It is definitely shorter than I had imagined. Lucky for me my hair grows so stinking fast I wont have to worry about it being short for long. Roxy was worried about messing my hair up cause she didn’t want me to hate my hair cut. (sister thing I guess). But I just kept telling her my haircutting motto: “It’ll grow back”. Totally brings me back to the good old days of my friend Leah cutting my hair and us sharing the same bottle of hair bleach. Back in the day I was like a normal sized Barbie doll. Gotta love the occasional bald spot. (just as a side note:Leah actually went to hair school after grad and CAN cut hair now. Shes pretty good too). I have to take a picture of the shih szu on the floor in my kitchen. It was too late to clean it up last night and I wanted to take a picture so I should go do that and clean up before Emily gets up from her nap.

Facebook = (Myspace – creativity)X(13 year olds + spam)

I wanted to Rant about facebook, but my friend Karyn did a pretty good job for me. I think I might even feel stronger about this than she does, but…well just don’t get me started. Heres what she wrote
“So here’s a question:

What’s the big deal about Facebook anyway?

I kid you not, I have received at least forty invitations to join Facebook, but since I have to sign up just to look at what it is, I have no desire whatsoever to do that. And if you’ve been one of the last twenty people or so to invite me, I haven’t even responded to your e-mail to say thanks but no thanks.

Is it really all that great?

Or is it just another chance to spend more time having friendships through the computer instead of face to face? Friendships that tend to lack intimacy and depth?

I realize I haven’t got a clue what I’m talking about, because I haven’t got a clue what’s it’s like to be on Facebook. People tell me it’s neat to reconnect with old friends from Elementary School. Really? Some of the people that have invited me to Facebook live less than 30 minutes away but haven’t actually spoken to me or spent any time with me in months. Perhaps it’s because they’re too busy reconnecting with people they haven’t seen for ten or twenty years. It’s a shame – I miss them. Thankfully there are still a few people who seem to prefer “in person” friendships.

Am I just venting? Yes, a little. Will I eat my words someday and join Facebook? It’s possible, I suppose. Though I imagine if I’ve resisted thus far, I’m probably not going to sweat it. I just don’t get the replacement of deep, personal friendships with Internet interaction. I never have.

Maybe one day I’ll understand, but for now, I really just don’t get Facebook.

PS – If you happen to be a great Facebook lover, do your best not to crucify me just for having an admittedly under-informed opinion.

I have returned from whence I came.

I think memorable is the best way to describe my weekend at avalanche. There were good things and bad things thats for sure. Heres a recap of the funny things. We are driving down the coquahalla when the van starts to sound a bit too much like a Suzuki. We pull over and the van is now toast. Yay for Elisha who saved the day having only caught up to us 10 minutes before coming from Vancouver. So Leesh saves the day! We get there and all is going well. We set up tents and head for the conference. Skip ahead a bit until Saturday night. The day has been pretty good so far and we stay up a bit late for a concert and then head back to camp. I’m wondering…did you ever played with dominoes as a kid? I did, but nothing even compares to coming back to the camp and finding that 2 of the 3 huge tents have played dominoes while you were away. I’ll admit, not everyone thought it was as funny as I did. Ok mostly they did. Skip ahead a bit more to Sunday Morning. At the church service they had this drumming contest. They asked who could drum so my group yelled me and I ran up to the front. I jumped on stage to meet my competition who happens to be a guy I know from Williams lake. Imagine that! Rival towns drumming it up. We played stomp on these barrels full of blue and red paint. It was awesome. My dress is now perma tye dyed. Well I lost, but it was a cheer contest so It could have happened to anyone. But I won a t-shirt. YAY.

We are working on a video for Youth and Church. I’m loving all the stuff we have so far. Its awesome. Ill try to put it up as soon as possible. Anyways. I’m zonked from a long weekend without much sleep so Im gonna go get a coffee and chill out.

Oh yeah and we got given a new hugemongous awesome HD LCD flat screen T.V. YAYAYAY!!! Just in time for the season finale of Heroes. Which rocked by the way.

It's Done!

Its done It’s done! We’ll at precisely 2:36am in the morning I turned off my computer monitor and headed to bed. The movie was finished. I’m pretty happy with it too. Believe it or not I’m actually excited to do more video editing. Especially now that I have some more knowledge of Premiere. I’m not sure, but prolly the best part about last night was playing on Jakes computer and making all kinds of stuff. I made a comic book at 1:30 in the morning. All that means is that I think is awesome and no one else will. Or at least they wont think its funny. I put it up at kaspers.ca so you can try your luck at my late night humor if you wish. I’m going to try and have the Video up today too. I have to format it different for Web though so it wont be so big.

Emily has had a super long nap today. YAY! that was perfect timing because after a late night last night I really need to have a nap too. She is going to be so hungry when she wakes up and I just realized that I have not eggs for a quick scram. Hmm. I’ll have to think of something else to make. I made quinoa (keen-wa) For her last night and she seemed to like it alright. She didn’t love it, but I can work with that. Her daddy’s spicy pasta brings joy to her teeny heart. I think thats all Em wants right now. She’s still content with power oatmeal in the Morning but need something more substantial than regular baby food the rest of the day. So now aside from a bottle of formula at bedtime we don’t buy any baby food. I had been buying it for when she goes to the sitters, but she hates the stuff and I don’t blame her. It’s bland and kinda yucky. So I’ll just have to get more creative with on the go meals. ooo Planning ahead

Speaking of planning ahead. I don’t know what night yet, but we are having meatloaf. I decided yesterday I seriously wanted meat loaf. I’m getting excited just thinking about it. Maybe Ill have my parents over. They like my meatloaf. Wow now I’m hungry.

Garage me.

Would that I had a garage for my band. We are still working on the video. There isnt much I can do so I’ve been playing with Jakes computer because It’s amazing. I miss working with Mac. I’ve been playing with Garage Band. Its so fun. So far I pretty much sound like one of theose tacky webpages with the crappy midi song playing in the background. But its my midi! I would really like to get a Mac. I think my podcasts wold…well exist. I dont love audacity. It works, but is definitely limited in its functionality. As DR. Brown would say…”Patient lacks cognitive function”. I relate that directly to programs with crappy issues.

I had a relay meeting tonight. I felt bad because it was for our team and I forgot. My mom phoned and so I was only 10 minuted late. I then felt loads better because aside from my mom no one showed up. Oh well. Theoretically I have a team of 8 right now. We lost acouple from last year, but have 2 newbies. Yay Gramma and Poppa! So my mom and I just had a quick coffee and then back to make sure Emily didnt freak out on Auntie Leesh.

It’s a good thing DQ isnt open right now. I think I could seriously injure for a blizzard. Rox showed me this new one she makes with carmel and kit kat. Its a-maze-za-zing. Leesh got me hooked on Mint Chocolate Iced capps from Timmys and now Im hooped. Im glad Im back at the gym on monday. I need to go! Im actually looking forward to it.

This week is gonna be busy. At least its just full of average stuff and not loads of deadlines like last week. I think it will feel like a walk in the park compared to the schedule of last week. It almost feels anticlimactic. hmm

Another Saga of the JAM

I’m perfect! In every way except for several. Still working on the JAM movie this morning. Nope didn’t pull an all-night-er, just thought about it and thought “I’m getting to old for this”. So we waited till this morning to attack it. All the phoootage we put on the mac showed up with a “sample” logo right across the front of it. GRR. But then I finally found my copy of Premiere and now we are cooking with fire. I think this is going to be a long saga in the saga of sagas. At least I have a good cuppah. Coffee makes me happy!

Em is still singing away this morning as she slowly wakes herself up. I think its one of my favorite things about the little munchkin. I need to put a camera in her room…hmm our camera does have a remote… this could work nicely. She’s singing “E I E I E I E I E I E I” she still never gets to “O”. One day “O” will be her anthem of choice.

I’m in a silly mood this morning. prolly a combo of not enough sleep and to much coffee. Plus Leesh and I are hanging out which always makes me silly too!YAY! For the record I’m not abandoning a friend to blog. That would be rude. I am blogging while some files format and she is on the other Laptop watching Tivo. Gotta love that.

Well Emmy is finally awake enough to get her(otherwise she gets up grumpy). So I’d better go get the little punk.

Busy Dayz Are Fun.

Sometimes I get so frustrated that what I see in my head I cant put down. If I see an awesome picture I can’t paint or draw it. If know what would be great for a movie clip I’m limited by programs and It never comes out quite right. Even Photo manips never come out quite like I picture them. It makes me really curious about the human brain and the way God designed it. I don’t know what the statistics are about the percentage of the brain that is actually used, but it’s low. Plus I’m pretty sure most guys use even less…oops is that a stereo type? Haha. I think this all makes me excited for heaven. I think I’ll be able to sing the way I want to and paint better than Rembrandt and I wont even need a computer to do digital art or movies. That excites me.

Im working on a movie today for Sunday. Its a highlights video from Jam sessions kids conference last weekend. I’ve got some really good Ideas, but Ill have to wait and see how it goes. I’m just blogging right now while the silly thing renders. Even with an ok computer its still not that fast. Morgan is looking at a mac book for me on eBay right now. Its selling for pretty cheap. Our old laptop is getting to be flintstonian. It tries my patience on a regular basis.

We are getting Emily into another routine and I’m starting to feel comfortable with this one which makes me nervous because that means it’s going to change again soon. arg. I guess its good that they change because you cant stay like that forever, but it would make it easier if each baby came with a manual. I cant picture that feeling good inside your tummy for 9 months, but I think It could work all the same.

Rox and Poppa

*someone got to my page by searching “Roxy Resurrection” and “I’m a crappy waitress” and “crooked cakes” I laughed.  And today I posted my 50th post!*
