When did you have the time to turn six? You have been so busy planning and playing outside. You were busy dressing up and reading books to Avery. You were definitely too busy making crafts and learning to ride your bike. You couldn’t possibly have had time. You have been so busy learning to read and count and devouring maps. Your schedule has been packed with playdates and wedding planning with the neighbour( although currently, I believe the wedding is off because he spilled mustard on his pants…fickle) And you have certainly been much too busy with your dance recitals and music shows that are always in the planning stages. There couldn’t have been time, could there? No, I think it must have snuck up on you. You’ve been so busy playing and growing that all of the sudden, you turned around and you were six. Wow. I think you should look like this:

I am so proud of the compassionate, Jesus-Loving, caring, thoughtful girl you are becoming. Happy Birthday Emily!

Look how tiny Teagan is and Kelton seems bigger until you know that he is 13 years old!! Their Mama is coming!!

And sweet Faith, soon to be called Hasya which means “have mercy”, or “take refuge”. Beautiful!

Hasya is 14 years old and she weighs 14 lbs! My two year old weighs double that!

So, while I could ask you to donate money, mostly I ask you to pray. Let Jesus stir your heart to be broken for “the least of these”( Matthew 25:40). Trust me, its a good kind of broken!

Just checking something else off that never ending list in my head of things I’d like to learn. So far I’ve made 4 toques, a pair of slippers and 2 dish cloths!

This right here is the first toque that has ever fit my big fat Steven head!

These are custom to fit my oh-so-tiny feet. I know, this is starting to make me sound freakish…but I am rather odd.

If I could get drum sticks that had crochet hooks on the other side, I’d be set!

One day, Yoda Crow Shey climbed inside a suitcase
Which promptly zipped, left on a trip, and went from place to place.

He wiggled out to see the sights everywhere he could

He even ordered room service like every green dude should.

He made his way to Hollywood in a rented car

Then stopped down town to see the ground and he became a star.

A quick donut, then back home in the duffle and Yoda gives a quip
“When travel so far, you do, dont forget the ship!”

I picked up a Spanish Kids dictionary to help keep her excited about learning and try some new words out. I’m excited to try something new. I can hardly wait for next year when I get to try some new things again! I think one of the keys to helping a child learn a new language is modelling it. Like any other concept, if you do it, they will. I usually replace the words for “I want” and “I have” en Español and she picked that up without even knowing it was part of class. Now she asks if I want something of if she wants something and is using this weird kind of sign-spanglish. I doubt there is a term for it. I looked into Rosetta Stone for her, but she’s not quite there, so we will stick with a mixture for now.

Whats that I see?!?!?! A smile on a girl outside?? Yes, I think it is! I think my poor Canadian girl is getting used to being outside!!
