BAK SAL

All day long Emily talked about this bake sale she wanted to have and she even made a sign. After the 40th time she said something about it, I clued in and thought we’d better set up a bake sale and add some silent /e/’s to the words BAK SAL. Then we dug out some pennies and sent daddy for tim bits.

This bake sale included reading, writing and math…all unknown learning goals for two tiny tots who devoured 4 cent tim bits and 2 cent glasses of pink lemonade. Gotta love teaching practical things. I was even brave enough to let emily pour juice in the living room…what a day!

Also, you cant see it there, but Avery has been accident free for 2 days! Potty training is significantly easier with non-sensory kids…just saying…

Avery is 2!

Yesterday my sweet cheeks lil Avery turned 2!

If you want to catch up on her birth story read this. Or Part 2 of her story is here.

2 Years ago I was here! Waiting for my c-section after 3 early labours and much chaos.

Then our miracle baby Avery Faith Kasper was born! 5 lbs 14 oz.

Practically Darth Vader baby from the CPAP oxygen machine for the first week of her life.

So tiny, yet so full of life and spunk!

Her pretty little dress from her little buddy Wendle in the cot next to hers. I guess they planned for a girl or boy, so they had an extra tiny dress!

Home and wireless! We love wireless!lol.

The happiest camper and Mommys good little sleeper!

Yes her shirt says “yo ho ho and a bottle of milk!” My Pirate girly!

Lovin the beach and growing!

Happy Birthday 1 year old!

Loon Lake is the best place to be for a toddler!

And now, 2 years later and much less drama than her actually birth day, Avery Faith turns 2!We love you princess! You are a Joy and sooo funny!

Undie’s

We aren’t quite ready to start Potty Training yet, but we are getting close.

“Undie’s go on head mommy?”

Um…no hunny..that’s not where those go.

Spring is Here!

In our town, spring isn’t seen in april showers, fresh buds on the trees, flowers bursting from the ground or any other typical things. Spring comes when there is enough of the ground visible for the street sweepers to start working. When the snow is off the driveway and we get mud rivers to drive through. That is Spring. Glorious Spring!

When my girl and her Elton John Glasses can freely roam outside/drag the dog around the yard.

When Baby Girl isn’t so bundled up that she cant move/jumps in puddles until her tushie is soaked!

When Cassy Caspian Chewbackella Kasper is allowed to roam freely (read dragged) around the yard once more.

When Puddles are allowed.

When Puddles are Preferred!

SPRING!

Sleeping Babies

Makes me all warm and fuzzy inside!

Lake of the Trees Pt 1.

We went out to Lake of the trees on Saturday for a baptism. It was a really cool thing to be a part of. 5 of the staff decided to take the next step in their relationship with Jesus and get baptized. We also stayed for swimming and dinner! I have oodles of pics from that day, so I’m splitting it into 3 parts to make is manageable! I have some from the baptism, but they aren’t really mine to share, so I’ll post some of my girls at the beach.

Shhh Mommy they are praying!

Sunscreen nose in the sand equals sandscreen nose!

Half asleep water baby.

Grubby lil girl! Loves her sand!

Aves loves splashing!

Thats the smile I got when I said “smile”. Its the pained expression of “can I go back to making a sandcastle now that I’m finished humoring you mom!”

Hulk Baby

I have no idea. But Aves is beyond precious!

Blogcation is over!

Wow, new blog record. My Blogcation was almost 9 months long. I guess I just haven’t felt very blogable lately. What to say about the last 9 months…hmm…well, they went by and now I’m here. I think I’m going to have to just pick one thing and write about that because my thoughts are far to scattered to write about everything all at once. So um…I’ll write about the girls because they are the cuteness. In the middle of my blogcation, Emily turned 4 and Avery turned 1. So here’s a little word journey about where my girls are at.

Emily is a voracious reader, which makes me a voracious reader because she cant really read yet. She goes to book club every Tuesday and we come home with a pile of books to read. They should never have given us a chart to fill in because we can’t help but turn that into a challenge to read more than everyone else! Competitive…me…no!Back to Emmyloo. Her newest habit is sucking on her hair. It grosses me out, but when you’ve got a sensory seeking little one, you just have to make due. We bought her an extra tooth brush to chew on and that seems to help. The Occupational therapist who was working where I did my practicum suggested chewey foods like licorice, but giving a 4 year old red dye and sugar, isn’t my idea of a good time.  The chew brush seems to be working well. She asks for it when she needs it. She wrote a poem yesterday all by herself. It goes like this “Snuggle Wuggle, give me a hug. Wash your plate and wash your mug”. Pure Genius I know! the cadence, the metaphors, the pure lyrical brilliance, It leaves me dumbfounded! On to brilliant baby #2

Avery is walking and babbling a million miles a minute! She says “tickle Tickle”, “giggle giggle’, ‘dada’, ‘mumum’, ‘ba’ for ball and ‘plah’ for play. She says ‘eye’ for light and signs milk, more, all done, ball, light, change, hi and a few others I cant think of too. She babbles about everything and is starting to copy the different sounds we make. She currently has a cold, so she isn’t a happy camper, but she’s starting to feel better already. The snot ration in our house has been a little on the high to severely high scale lately.  Avery finally gained some weight too. 18 lbs now! She weighed 15 lbs for ever!

Well theres a bit of blog for you to chew on. I want to pace myself and not try to blog a marathon or anything while I get my blogfingers back into shape. don’t want to pull a blog muscle or anything. type you soon!
