I was planning on watching a show this evening to relax, but I’m trying to be quiet until the kiddos go to sleep, so I’m blogging instead. This weekend I have 5 kids! I have my girlfriends 5 year old and twin almost 3 year olds, so it’s going to be a busy weekend. Having someone else’s kids makes things busier, but its my kids that are the biggest pain in the butt. My girlfriends kids are all happy and playing and my kids are all whiney! We’ll mostly the oldest one! Emily gets very bossy. I find it funny and annoying at the same time.
I’m getting super excited about homeschooling. I enrolled Emily in TLA, which is Traditional Learning Academy. In BC you have several options for school and 2 different options for homeschooling or home learning as Im learning many like to call it. You can register your child with a school district of a traditional school like TLA which gets you $150 and then you do whatever you want for school. Or you can enroll with a school and get much more support. You get $1000 and a teacher who you have to talk to everyweek so you stay on track and the teacher helps you set up plans for the year and everything too. It’s a pretty cool system to help you get going and have the funding to do it too.
It’s not that I didn’t think Emily wouldn’t have liked Public school and I was even “ok” with it” Now we are both very excited and Im getting more and more excited with the different ways she can learning things. Really the subjects are limitless. A few that Emily is already excited about when I told her she could learn anything: Frogs, rainbows, math, writing letters to Nanny all by her self, reading anything she wants even chapter books and all kinds of other things too. Next blog…Methods of homeschooling and what we are doing!
