I expected it to happen. I had been told my entire life that it would happen. Some how I pictured it differently.
As per usual Morgan headed into Emily’s room to wake her up in the morning.(She just learned the word Morning and told everyone at church her new word today it was cute.) He always sings to her the good morning song. I was sitting at the Computer when I hear this “Courtenay. I need your help”. My response”Change the poopy diaper yourself.”But that wasn’t all.
To illustrate our conversation I have to first tell you that Emily still doesn’t say “R” yet. I cant do the accent in typing so I’ll have to use brackets and you’ll have to use your imagination.
Morgan: “Courtenay I need your help”
Courtenay: “Change the poopy diaper yourself”
Morgan: “It happened”
Courtenay enter the scene. Emily is only sort of wearing her onsie and no diaper.
Emily is standing in her crib holding something in her hand out to me.
Emily: “Shi(R)t, Shi(R)t,Shi(R)t,Shi(R)t”
Courtenay: “Thats right it is. How does she know that word? Morgan”
Morgan:*gag*”I didn’t teach her it.”*gag* “Grab her.”
Courtenay:”Um…no.”
Courtenay leaves and runs bath. Morgan laughs loudly in Emily’s room.
Courtenay deals with Emily and Morgan takes it like a man and cleans the poo poo off the wall and the crib and the sheets and the toys, and the music crib thing. Courtenay is sooo proud of Morgan.
As I was getting Emily re-dressed she kept saying “No Shi(R)t“. Thats when I figure out she means shirt and that there was poo poo on it and now there isn’t. Um gross.
I immediately had to phone my mom and tell her that Emily finally paid her back for my artistic moment at age 2 with the same medium. If you don’t have paint you use what you have ok. Then your parents just get better at pinning you in your clothes.
The goal this week: Teach the baby to say her “R”‘s!

At least she didn’t eat it
This time. Last time she got ahold of it she did:)
