This is my new toy. Morgan got me this neat program. I’m just talking to the microphone and it writes what I say. I love it! Until I figure it out it’s going to go a little bit slow. I guess the hard part is that I think faster than I can talk. One day there will be a computer that can actually just write down what I think. That will be great. I love this thing. I think I might actually get somewhere on the pirate book I’m writing. I can tell stories, but I can’t always get them down on paper. I think I can think of a lot more to say when I’m typing because I type so slow I have more time to think. Probably that’s why.
Emily had a rough night tonight. When I got home from worship practice she was still screaming in bed. She hadn’t gone to sleep. She had been a bum for Morgan all evening. I got her out of bed and gave her some Tylenol. I took a baby towel and put an ice cube in it and wrapped a hair elastic around it. She chewed on it and played for about an hour. Those teeth have to come through pretty soon. I hope! Poor little girl, poor little teeth!
I am seriously craving ice cream today. It would help if there wasn’t a tub of ice cream in the freezer. The chocolate is calling my name. It’s saying “Courtenay come eat me”! I think I need to just throw it out, but I really like it, I don’t know. I’ve been drinking a lot more water though. I bought those crystal light drinks. The iced tea one, that is a single serving. It helps me drink more water. Anything to drink more water. Man I love this thing. It feels really lazy. I’m okay with lazy.
Tomorrow night we have Encounter. Sid and Cheryl Molenaar will be here. I’m looking forward to it. Sid is speaking on Sunday too. I am looking forward to Sunday because I get to play the drums. I haven’t played in a while. We’re even playing a song I wrote.
Elisha is coming tomorrow Yay! Well this is officially my first Dragon Naturally Speaking blog. Who knows what will become of this. Will typing be over as I know it, probably not! We’ll see.

I used dragon a very long while back. It was very cool to talk and have the computer react. It felt like a scene out of a futuristic science fiction movie. Yet it was very cumbersome. It forced me to read some long text so it could get used to my voice, and even then it was still a pain to use. The voice recognition wasn’t all that good. It would make mistakes, or not interpret what I would say correctly.
I imagine the software has evolved and gotten much better of the years.
Now that windows vista has this functionality integrated (and you can find software to do this in linux/mac), I wonder what the future holds for it? Why pay for something that already comes with your computer? Especially if it’s quality is inferior or comparable.
mark bought a program like that years ago and we never used it. I tried to program it but there was hours of saying all these words involved and then it didn’t even work well.
Annnd….you’re a dork.
